Between 1953 and 1973, they used everything from high doses of LSD to sensory deprivation on people who thought they were just showing up for a standard checkup. It was a dark, surreal era of history where the “men in black” were basically throwing hallucinogenic spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck. We can laugh about it now because it ended decades ago, and surely the authorities would never dream of attempting such strange, unethical experiments on the public again. Right?
